The Add-on acquisitions report provides insights into add-on performance for your app or game. It shows how many add-on purchases are made and the revenue generated across subscription, durable, and consumable add-ons.
Use this report to monitor purchase volume, track revenue, and evaluate add-on performance over time. Use filters such as date range and markets to refine the data.
Overview
The Overview tab provides a summary of your app or game's add-on performance, including purchase and revenue insights. It includes key metrics, trends, and geographic distribution across subscription, durable, and consumable add-ons.
Use this tab to quickly understand overall add-on performance over a selected time period.
Key metrics
The Key metrics section shows a high-level summary of add-on purchases and revenue for the selected date range.
- Subscriptions purchased: Shows the total number of subscription add-on purchases in the selected date range.
- Consumables purchased: Shows the total number of consumable add-on purchases in the selected date range.
- Durables purchased: Shows the total number of durable add-on purchases in the selected date range.
- Total revenue: Shows the gross revenue in USD from all add-on purchases (subscriptions, durables, and consumables) in the selected date range.
Trends
The Trends section shows how add-on purchases and revenue change over time.
- Purchase count by type: Shows the number of purchases over the selected date range, broken down by add-on type (for example, subscriptions and durables).
- Revenue by type (USD): Shows the gross revenue in USD over the selected date range, broken down by add-on type.
Geographical spread
The Geographical spread section shows purchase counts by country or region.
For each country or region, you can view:
- Subscription purchases
- Durable purchases
- Consumable purchases
This table helps you understand where your add-on purchases are coming from.
Conversions breakdown by campaign ID
The Conversions breakdown by campaign ID section shows conversions and page views from customers on Windows 10 or Windows 11 for each custom campaign.
Subscriptions
The Subscriptions tab provides detailed insights into subscription add-ons, including acquisition, revenue, and retention trends. It provides insights into subscription add-ons, including acquisition, revenue, and retention metrics.
Key metrics
The Key metrics section summarizes subscription status and activity for the selected date range.
- Active subscriptions: Shows the number of active non-trial subscriptions as of the latest available date.
- Active trials: Shows the number of active trial subscriptions as of the latest available date.
- New subscriptions acquired: Shows the total number of new subscription acquisitions in the selected date range. This includes trial subscriptions.
- Churned: Shows the total number of subscriptions that were canceled, expired, or refunded in the selected date range.
Subscription acquisitions
The Subscription acquisitions section shows the acquisition count for subscription add-ons.
- Displays acquisition count per selected add-on over the selected date range
- Allows filtering by purchase status
- Allows selection of one or more add-ons for comparison
Subscription revenue (USD)
The Subscription revenue (USD) section shows revenue trends for subscription add-ons.
- Displays the gross revenue in USD per selected add-on over the selected date range
- Allows selection of one or more add-ons to compare performance
Subscription details
The Subscription details section provides a breakdown of subscription metrics per add-on.
- Shows totals for each subscription add-on over the selected date range
- Includes metrics such as active subscriptions, active trials, new acquisitions, and churn
Cohort retention
The Cohort retention section shows how groups of users who start a subscription in the same month are retained over time.
- Each row represents a cohort of users who subscribed in a specific month
- Each column shows the percentage of that cohort retained in subsequent months
You can filter the data by user groups:
- All users: Includes all users who acquired a subscription
- New users: Includes users who acquired a subscription for the first time
Durable & Consumable
The Durable & consumable tab provides insights into durable and consumable add-ons, including their purchases and revenue. Use this tab to understand how durable and consumable add-ons perform over time and compare performance across add-ons.
Key metrics
The Key metrics section summarizes purchase and revenue activity for durable and consumable add-ons.
- Durable purchased: Shows the total number of durable add-on purchases in the selected date range.
- Durable revenue: Shows the gross revenue from durable add-on revenue in USD for the selected date range.
- Consumable purchased: Shows the total number of consumable add-on purchases in the selected date range.
- Consumable revenue: Shows the gross revenue from consumable add-on revenue in USD for the selected date range.
Trends
The Trends section shows purchases and revenue trends for durable and consumable add-ons over time.

- Shows the purchase count per selected add-on over the selected date range
- Allows filtering by category
- Allows selection of one or more add-ons to compare

The Consumable & durable details section provides a breakdown of add-on performance.
- Shows totals per add-on (durables and consumables) over the selected date range
- Allows sorting by:
- Quantity sold
- Revenue
Note
Some sections and metrics may not display data if the corresponding add-on types (subscriptions, durables, or consumables) aren't configured or if there is insufficient activity during the selected date range.
