Please confirm that MAKE IT AS FAVORITE option has been deprecated in Teams since there are a few videos and trainings that show option is or was available.

I am a little late to this thread but it took me a minute to figure it out, so I am adding an answer.

*I did NOT find a way to Favorite the Team, but I did find a way to Favorite a channel under the team. So if you only have 1 channel....it is usually called General.

Select the three dots (...) next to channel name (ie: General).
Select SHOW IN
Select FAVORITES

If you do not see that, you may need to create the section, so click "New Section" & title it Favorites.

wel there is no optie to set an star on an team, the best option the (simaler) favorite an team is to drag and drop the best one above the other, or use filter.

click on an team, drag to the top etc

Other option, is working from SharePoint

As you can see, the one with an star is the one i follow.

Open the Teams sharepoint site and follow

As above said , there is no option to favorite a Team in Teams.

I checked in our Teams client but we did not have this option to do it. And it seems there is no official document talking about it.

I'm not sure this option is available. You can try submitting this feedback directly to Microsoft via:

Currently, favoriting people's chats/contacts is only available.

adding a team into a favorites category was definitely possible up until today...

Very frustrating that such a useful feature was removed without notice, we were kind of hoping that "custom groups" feature that worked similarly to adding favorites would be added to MS Teams... heres a video of how adding favorites was working up until yesterday...https://youtu.be/eT1sRx13FBM?t=58
