Hello, Darrell Simms,
Thank you for your feedback. I understand that you are having trouble remembering your PIN code. Please refer to the following methods:
- On the lock screen, hold down the Shift key and restart your computer from the bottom right corner of the screen.
Your system will restart to a special startup options menu. From there, select “Troubleshoot” > “Advanced options” > “Command Prompt.”
In the Command Prompt window, type and press Enter: regedit
In the Registry Editor, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then go to the “File” menu and select “Load Hive.”
Locate the drive where the operating system is installed (typically C:), then navigate to Windows\System32\config.
Select the file named SAM, then click “Open.”
In the dialog box that appears, name this file (e.g., REM_SAM).
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SAM\SAM\Domains\Accounts\Users\000001F4, then double-click the string named F. In the opened table, locate the number 11 (first column, eighth row; varies by Windows version; 14 for Professional Edition), click its right side, press Backspace to delete 11, then type 10 in its place.
Close the Registry Editor by typing exit in the Command Prompt window, then restart the computer normally.
After restarting, you can log in using the built-in administrator account.
- If the first method does not work, you can only try to recover using a USB image.
