I have logged into MS team using my account from 2 devices. However, I am not able to self-chat which i use to take and share notes across devices. I get this message when I am trying to send message to self "Wait for Naushad to reply to continue messaging".

When I look up the root cause of the message I see this in Microsoft's knowledge base:

If you encounter this message in your chat, please request that the recipient accept the chat again to resume the conversation. You may only send up to 10 messages before the recipient has accepted your chat request.

However I don't know how to invite self to initiate chat. Can you help with resolving this issue?

    Hello

If I remember the timeline correctly, self chat was a feature available, then it became unavailable, and it is now brought back again, but in Teams Insider for now.

Can you go to Teams Settings > Insider program, opt into the program.

You might see the Update Teams indication on the upper right after some time (within an hour), if so, click on that and restart Teams. See if that allows you to add yourself in conversation.

Sorry, but these two posted images are identical. Nevertheless, what they are shown is that "naushad amin" is not a self-chat conversation, because there is neither (You) or (Skype) in the name of this conversation. This might be another contact with the same name or your own another account. Searching for this name shows that there are at least 3 users with this name.

Because this user has not yet accepted your invitation, you cannot send messages to this user.

You may have now two "self-chat" conversations in your Teams app.

    User's image

The original one, which was transferred from Skype, is now renamed to "Your name (Skype)". This conversation is now disabled, so no new messages can be posted to this chat.

The new one with the display name "Your name (You)" has exactly the same functionality as the original "Skype" self-chat and should now be available on all devices.

If you don't see (You) or (Skype) in the name of the self-chat, then this is not a real self-chat, but a conversation with another contact which occasionally has the same name as you.
