    Hi Toni Chappell,

You currently can't officially install the Amazon Alexa app on a Windows 11 PC. The application was previously a native Windows software package distributed directly through the Microsoft Store and Amazon officially discontinued this dedicated desktop client and removed its distribution package from the active store repository.

If you try to force an installation using old links, the operating system will reject the request because the official AppxBundle installation files are no longer hosted or digitally signed by the developer. You must also actively avoid downloading standalone executables from unofficial websites. To utilize Alexa services moving forward, you will need to rely on the official applications available for iOS and Android mobile devices or use dedicated Amazon hardware.

On Windows 11, apps are installed from Microsoft Store or, for Android apps, via the Amazon Appstore using Windows Subsystem for Android.

To install apps from Microsoft Store:

    1. Open Microsoft Store (select the icon on the taskbar or search for Microsoft Store).
    2. Browse or search for the desired app.
    3. Select the app, then select Get.
    4. Sign in with a Microsoft account if prompted.

To install Android apps from the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11 (where supported):

    1. Confirm the device meets the requirements for mobile apps on Windows 11 (Windows 11, x64/ARM64, SSD recommended, 16 GB RAM recommended, and Virtual Machine Platform enabled).
    2. Install the Amazon Appstore from Microsoft Store using the provided "Get the Amazon Appstore" entry.
    3. After installation, open the Amazon Appstore from Start.
    4. Sign in with an Amazon account.
    5. Search for the desired app and install it from the Amazon Appstore catalogue.

Note: Starting March 5, 2025, Windows Subsystem for Android and the Amazon Appstore are not available in Microsoft Store. In that case, only apps available directly in Microsoft Store can be installed.

Thru Google Search I downloaded Amazon Alexa App from the Microsoft Store to my Windows 11 with this link http://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9N12Z3CCTCNZ?hl=pt-br&gl=BR

It is guaranteed to be safe and virus free as per AI Gemini. I had been searching for more than a week and was extremely cautious in my choice. Being a discontinued app it does not have updates.
