How do I fix ERR SSL Protocol? I've tried videos, forums etc

It looks like the ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR happens when the browser cannot complete a secure (HTTPS) connection with the website. This is usually caused by a mismatch between your system/network settings and the site’s security requirements, rather than a single specific fault.

Here are a few additional targeted checks that you can try:

1, Flush DNS cache

• Open Command Prompt (Admin)
• Run ipconfig /flushdns

2, Check Proxy settings

• Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy
• Turn Off “Automatically detect settings”
• Ensure no manual proxy is configured (unless required)

3, Test without VPN or network filtering

• Disconnect VPN (if in use)
• Try a different network (mobile hotspot is ideal)

4, Disable QUIC protocol in Edge

• In browser address bar, go to: edge://flags/#enable-quic
• Set QUIC to Disabled, then restart browser

If the issue:

• Happens only on specific websites > it may be related to the site’s SSL configuration
• Happens across all browsers and networks > it may indicate a deeper network or system-level restriction
