Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

To upgrade your subscription from Office 365 Personal to Family, buy the subscription, and the benefits will be automatically added to your account straightaway.

If the browser keeps loading when upgrading your license, please use another browser or open an incognito tab (CTRL + SHIFT + N) and buy the Office 365 Family subscription. The remaining days on your current subscription will automatically convert and get added to your new subscription.

If you are still having issues, clear your browsing History, cache and cookies and then try again.

Let me know if you still need more help.

To upgrade Office to Microsoft 365 Family and address the loading/installation issues, follow these steps:

    1. Verify the exact error during upgrade or install
    • When trying to upgrade or install Office, note any error code or message shown.
    • If there is a Learn More link in the error dialog, select it to open the specific troubleshooting article for that error.
    1. Check for common Office install/upgrade errors
    • Many upgrade/install problems show numeric error codes (for example, 30015-6, 30015-1011, 30088-26, etc.).
    • For general installation/upgrade issues, use the “Troubleshoot installing Office” guidance for home or business subscriptions and follow the link that matches the error code shown on screen.
    1. Repair the existing Office installation If the upgrade is stuck or Office apps are not working properly, repair Office first:
    • Open Control PanelProgramsUninstall a program.
    • Select the existing Microsoft Office product (for example, Microsoft 365 Family, Office Home & Student, or similar) → choose Change.
    • In How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Online Repair and then Repair.
    • Follow the on-screen steps to complete the repair, then try the upgrade/install again.
    1. If repair fails, completely uninstall and reinstall Office If repair does not resolve the issue:
    • Use the Office uninstall troubleshooter to fully remove Microsoft 365/Office from the PC.
    • Run the troubleshooter, follow the prompts, and restart the computer when asked.
    • After restart, sign in with the Microsoft account that has the Microsoft 365 Family subscription and reinstall Office from the account’s services page using the provided setup.
    1. Retry the upgrade/install after restart
    • After uninstall/reinstall, attempt the upgrade or installation again from the Microsoft 365 account portal.
    • If an error code appears again, use the corresponding troubleshooting link from the Office install troubleshooting article.

If Microsoft Edge is “just loading” while doing this, perform the Office steps above using another supported browser (for example, a different browser already installed on the device) so the Office upgrade is not blocked by Edge issues.
