Hello, im selling my PC.

I completely wiped the computer, and reinstalled windows 11.

I wanted to setup the windows with local account so buyer can try out the computer. The thing is i needed to log in with microsoft account to setup windows 11. After setup I created local account and logged out and disconnected the microsoft account.

Now in the local account when opening edge for example its suggesting my email at the profile log in. Its not logged in, its just suggesting my email. Any way to get rid of this? Is it safe to leave it that way? No personal files are on my computer just the email.

Thanks

Yep - it’s safe in the sense that your Microsoft account is not signed in anymore and your files are gone, but it’s still better to remove the suggested email before selling the PC because it exposes your email address and can confuse the buyer.

What you’re seeing is usually cached account information left by Windows or Edge after the initial setup. You can remove it though. On the local account, open Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts. Under “Accounts used by other apps,” remove your Microsoft account if it still appears there. Then go to Settings > Accounts > Your info and confirm it says “Local account” and not Microsoft account.

After that, open Edge and go to:

    edge://settings/profiles

If your old profile still exists, remove it. You can also clear browsing data completely:

    edge://settings/clearBrowserData

Select all time and clear everything.

To remove remembered sign-in suggestions, also check:

    edge://settings/passwords

Delete any saved emails, autofill entries, or sign-in data.

If Windows still suggests your email on login prompts, open Credential Manager from the Start menu and remove any Microsoft/Live/Office credentials listed there.

If you want the cleanest buyer-ready setup, the best method is to do a Windows “Reset this PC” again and stop at the first setup screen instead of finishing setup. The buyer can then complete setup themselves. But if you already removed the Microsoft account, credentials, Edge profile, and there are no personal files left, the machine is generally fine to sell
