I hope if I press shortcut key to capture screenshot in windows 11, there’s an option to provide a 3 second delay so that both of my hands can leave the keyboard, just like using a smartphone to take the shot automatically 3 seconds later

    Hi Lenny Li,

The best way for me is to install the snipping tool on the taskbar so its always there then you can either open it or right click it to give you options for time etc.

Opening the main windows gives you these option as well plus the settings for the app

Is there any way to get the more complete Snipping menu from a shortcut key combination, just like (Windows Key + Shift + S).

Having to follow/remember this rather clunky path is annoying; surely the folks at Redmond could update/modify the existing (Windows Key + Shift + S) shortcut to point to what is described above as the "main tool" or at least include the timer menu item. While at it, such mods should just make a single Snipping tool menu, as there are items on the existing shortcut menu that aren't in the main tool menu too? Confusing!

Can't be that difficult can it? 😁

Yep, you can do this using the built-in Windows 11 Snipping Tool. While the quick keyboard shortcut (Windows Key + Shift + S) triggers an instant snapshot, you can easily open the main tool to use a 3, 5, or 10-second timer.

How to Use the Delay Feature

    1. Open the App: Press your Windows Key, type Snipping Tool, and press Enter.
    2. Set the Timer: Click the Clock icon (Delay Snip menu) on the toolbar and choose No delay, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds.
    3. Start the Shot: Click the New button.
    4. Get Ready: Move your hands off the keyboard and position your screen exactly how you want it.
    5. Snip: After 3 seconds, the screen will dim, and you can grab your shot!
