Please try performing a System Restore at an earlier date where everything is still working.

Can you try turning off Xbox mode if it helps?

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Navigate to Gaming > Xbox mode.
    3. Toggle the feature off.

The behavior is consistent with apps being forced into a full‑screen or borderless mode rather than opening in normal windowed mode. In Windows 10 and 11, desktop apps are designed to run in resizable windows; if functionality is impacted when not in windowed mode, the mitigation is to return them to standard windowed behavior.

    Use these checks and mitigations:

    1. For any affected app, restore it to a normal window:
      • When the app is open, press Win + Down Arrow once or twice to move it from maximized/full‑screen to a normal window.
      • Then resize the window manually and close it; many apps remember the last window size and position.
    2. If an app has an internal full‑screen toggle (for example a “go full screen” button in the title bar), click that button again to exit full screen and return to windowed mode.
    3. If the app is a legacy Windows 8/8.1 style app that misbehaves when not full‑screen, switch it to full‑screen and back, or use Tablet Mode (where available) once to let it open full‑screen, then exit Tablet Mode and resize it normally.
    4. If a specific app’s UI is broken only when windowed, update or repair that app:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Select the app’s More icon > Advanced options > Repair (or Reset if Repair is not available).
    5. If the issue is system‑wide and persists after updates, repair Windows app behavior:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • For affected system apps, use Advanced options > Repair or Reset.

If none of the above changes the behavior, the remaining option is to adjust or update the apps so they correctly support arbitrary window sizes, as Windows 10/11 expect apps to handle continuous resizing and non‑full‑screen layouts.
