I update window security and restarted and now is fixed. I don't think is because of restart because I restarted many times before and it was the same. prob the window security update solve the problem. the thing is I can't guarantee this will not happen again. anyways ill make another post if same issues happens, thanks you and have a good day/night

    Hi halloandbye,

Thanks for sharing the details. Since repairing Microsoft Edge did not resolve the issue, the next thing to check is whether the problem is related to the current Edge profile or a policy/settings conflict. Browsing history and download history are stored per Edge profile on the device, so a damaged profile can cause history to stop saving or stay stuck on Calculating.

To narrow it down further, please try these checking steps:

1, Test with a new Edge profile

    • Open Edge and go to: edge://settings/profiles
    • Select Add profile.
    • Browse a few websites, close Edge, then reopen it.
    • Check whether the new profile saves history normally.

2, If the new profile works, recreate the original profile

    • Back up important data first, such as Favorites.
    • Then continue using the new profile, or sign in again and allow your data to sync back.

3, Check if a policy is clearing history

    • Open: edge://policy
    • Look for policies related to browsing data, history, download history, or clearing data on exit.
    • If the device is managed by an organization, contact the administrator if any policy is applied.

You can also check the official Microsoft Edge known issues page, although this exact history-saving issue does not appear to be listed in the visible current tracked items.
