Title: Azure for Students Activation Failure: School Email Domain Unregistered / Blocked

Description: I am trying to activate my Azure for Students subscription through my approved GitHub Student Developer Pack (which currently shows the offer as "Claimed"). However, I am completely stuck in a registration loop on the Academic Verification page.

When I enter my official college email address, I receive the error banner: "Your email domain is not currently registered with us. You can choose another verification method."

Because Microsoft's academic database does not recognize my institution's email domain, it blocks the form and does not allow me to proceed with the GitHub verification option. How can I get past this domain block to activate my student credits when my university domain is unregistered?

    Hi @Neeraj Grover

Thank you for reaching out and the microsoft's academic verification system does not currently recognize your institution's email domain. Even though your GitHub Student Developer Pack has been approved, Azure for Students still needs its own academic verification before the subscription can be activated.

Azure for Students is available only to students who meet the following requirements:

    • You must affirm that you're age 18 or older and attend an accredited, degree-granting, two-year or four-year educational institution where you're a full-time student.
    • You must verify your academic status through your institution's email address.
    • This offer isn't available for use in a massive open online course (MOOC) or in other professional trainings from for-profit organizations.
    • This offer is limited to one Azure for Student subscription per eligible customer. It's nontransferable and can't be combined with any other offer, unless otherwise permitted by Microsoft.

For detailed terms of use, see the Azure for Students offer page

If your school doesn’t have a contract with Microsoft for Azure for Students, to have your college's email domain recognized, the college administration or IT department will need to take action.

If you meet these requirements, the best bet is to create a support request, you can submit a (free) support ticket with our Azure subscription support team by creating an Azure support request and selecting Subscription Management as the issue type.

Refer to this FAQ: How do I submit a support request if I can't sign in to the Azure portal?

You can also contact customer service for your country or region.

    Hi @Neeraj Grover,

The error you’re seeing is most likely because your school’s email domain hasn’t yet been recognized by Microsoft as a valid academic domain for the Azure for Students program. When the domain isn’t registered in their system, it can block the verification flow and prevent you from continuing.

In this case, First I’d recommend reaching out to your school’s IT department or administrator. They can confirm whether your domain is officially registered with Microsoft or help escalate it if needed. If you’re not sure who to contact, you might want to check with the person who provided your Microsoft 365 account, or use this guide for reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

In the meantime, you can also consider creating a support request directly with Microsoft Azure from the Help + support section in the Azure portal. The Azure for Education support team can take a closer look at your account and provide more specific guidance or clarification to help you move forward.

    Thank you for taking time.
