Using Outlook for iOS in business environments for email and scheduling
Follow these steps on the new iPhone to get Outlook calendar data showing in the widget again:
- Confirm the Outlook account is fully set up and syncing
- Open the Outlook app on the iPhone.
- Make sure the correct account is added and that Calendar items appear correctly inside the Outlook app itself (not just Mail).
- Check that Calendar is enabled for the account in Outlook
- In Outlook, go to the Calendar view.
- Tap the three lines in the upper left-hand corner.
- Under the email accounts list, make sure “Calendar” is selected for the account whose events should appear.
- If the email address is not listed, the account may have been added as IMAP, which does not sync calendar. Remove the account and re-add it using the proper Exchange/Outlook option (not IMAP).
- Ensure Outlook has permission to access Contacts/Background refresh (helps sync)
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Outlook.
- Turn on Contacts and Background App Refresh.
- Reset the Outlook account sync (if calendar still doesn’t show)
- In the Outlook app, go to Settings (gear icon).
- Tap the account that is not syncing correctly.
- Tap Reset Account and let Outlook resync.
- Check the Calendar in Outlook again.
- Remove and re-add the account if needed
If reset does not help:- In Outlook, go to Settings > tap the account > Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
- Add the account again using the documented setup steps for Outlook for iOS.
- After re-adding, confirm events appear in Outlook’s Calendar, then check the widget.
- Re-add the Outlook calendar widget on iOS
- On the iPhone Home or Today View, touch and hold an empty area until apps jiggle.
- Tap the + in the corner.
- Find Outlook in the widget list and add the calendar widget again.
- Make sure it is configured to show the same calendar/account that is enabled in Outlook.
If the calendar is visible inside Outlook but still not in the widget after these steps, use the in-app support option (Settings → Help & Feedback → Contact Support) so Outlook mobile support can review the account and sync state.
