School Name Search Suggestions Not Appearing in Academic Verification Portal

Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the Microsoft Academic Verification portal when attempting to verify my student status.

According to the instructions and several tutorial videos I have watched, when a user begins typing the name of their school or college, a list of matching institutions should appear as suggestions for selection. However, this functionality does not seem to be working for me.

Issue Details:

  • When I enter my college name (either the full name or a partial name), no school suggestions appear.
  • To rule out an issue with my institution, I changed the country/region to United States and typed "Harvard", but still no suggestions were displayed.
  • As a result, I am unable to select any institution from the list and proceed with the verification process.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

  • Tried multiple web browsers.
  • Used Incognito/Private browsing mode.
  • Tested on different devices.
  • Created and tested with a completely new Microsoft account.
  • Changed the country/region and searched for well-known institutions such as Harvard.

Despite all these attempts, the school search field never displays any suggestions.

Could you please advise whether this is a known issue with the Academic Verification portal or if there are any additional steps I can take to resolve it?

    To confirm the situation and suggest the troubleshooting steps in the right direction, may I confirm a few points:

    • Could you share a screenshot or the website that you are using to verify your account so I can better address the issue?

    • May I also confirm if this is the first time you are setting up your school email?

    In addition, you may want to ask a friend from the same organization to check how it works on their side, as the behavior is often similar within the same organization. You could also reach out to your IT admin for guidance on this step to see if they can provide further support.
