Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi T. Higgins,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how frustrating it is when Outlook suddenly asks you to sign in again and then fails to load your Gmail account.
Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas only.
Since you are using New Outlook, please try removing and re-adding the Gmail account using the Google sign-in option:
- Open New Outlook.
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Email accounts.
- Select your Gmail account and choose Remove.
- Restart New Outlook.
- Go back to Settings > Accounts > Add account.
- Enter your Gmail address and complete the Google sign-in page.
- When prompted, make sure you allow Outlook/Microsoft access to your Gmail account.
When adding Gmail to Outlook, the Google permissions window should appear and you need to choose Allow for the connection to complete.
If it still fails, please sign in directly at Gmail in a browser and check whether Gmail asks for any security verification. Also, if your Gmail account uses 2-step verification and Outlook asks for a password instead of opening the Google sign-in page, you may need to create and use a Gmail app password.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
