I recently needed to wipe everything of my pc and now it won’t let me select my ssd as a boot option

Hi,

Did you wipe the SSD using the Windows process or via the BIOS?

If you reinstalled Windows using the USB method, did you check if CSM is enabled?

If possible, please let me know the laptop model or the desktop specifications.

I wiped during Windows process, CAM was disabled but if I enable it in the bios I get one ssd showing up but it’s not the correct one

system specifications

CPU - Intel core I9 10900k

GPU NVIDIA - GeForce RTX 5070

motherboard - Rog strix Z490 E

Ram - 2x Corsair DDR4

Storage - WD BLUE SN570 and Sabrent rocket pro

Do you have a USB flash drive and another computer available so we can create installation media if necessary?

Yes USB drive to reinstall windows, I seen somewhere I might have to reinstall ssd drivers or something

Boot from the USB flash drive and try to reinstall Windows; if the SSD does not appear.

When I go to disk management both ssds don’t have any partitions and are unallocated

Hi,

That’s correct. Click on the SSD where you want to install Windows, select "Create," and click OK. Wait for it to create three partitions, then click "Next" and wait for the process to finish.

Upload the image to OneDrive or Google Drive and post the link here, or lower the photo quality in your smartphone app's camera settings (try HD) just to see the options.

Hi,

Is it correct that CSM and Secure Boot are disabled?

Is that the SSD you chose for the Windows installation? When you try to boot from the USB flash drive to that SSD, does it go back to the BIOS screen, or does nothing happen?

CSM is disabled but secure boot is on, That drive on my boot screen is where I installed windows as I thought it was my ssd but it wasn’t, If I enable CSM it shows my ssd that I want but says no boot disk detected when I try to boot

Hi,

In this case, you'll need to redo the process, but make sure to select the right SSD—since it installed on the SATA SSD, use the storage capacity as a guide to identify the correct drive for the installation.

On the SSD selection screen, you'll need to delete the partition that was just created. To help me identify the right one, please take a photo of the SSD selection screen and post it here.

Hi,

I didn't quite understand the question, but I don't think it's necessary; we just need to select the correct SSD on the installation screen.

You can specify which SSD you want to use during the Windows installation process.
