Cannot save in MS word. Out of memory when there is plenty of memory.

A need to update the OS and/or the software is the typical cause.

It also can be a matter of where you're attempting to save the file. Apple provides the Documents folder & recommends that user files should be saved in folder hierarchies created within that one.

"Out of memory" means out of RAM. In general, the term 'memory' refers to RAM and the terms 'space' or 'storage' refer to a hard drive.

If your computer is out of memory then you have to close running applications to regain the RAM they are using.
