Azure for Students sign up failing with No Access error

Hello Microsoft Engineers,

I am a registered member of the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (MLSA) program and I am active on the official program Discord server.

I am trying to activate my Azure credits on my account, but the sign-up system keeps giving me a hard "You have no access" error flag. My registered email address is ******@gmail.com. Because our college utilizes Gmail for student accounts rather than a traditional domain, the automated verification system blocks me completely. Even attempting to click "Contact Support" throws the same "no access" restriction.

As this is directly blocking my ability to participate in MLSA tracks and technical training, could an engineer please contact me via private message so I can share my Ambassador proof and have my academic status manually approved?

Thank you.

    Hey there, Girija G

I am trying to activate my Azure credits on my account, but the sign-up system keeps giving me a hard "You have no access" error flag.

I haven't come across this error before, but suspect it is because you are using a @gmail.com account to sign into the form, rather then a Microsoft account. But I could be wrong with that. Do you have a Microsoft account you could try and use?

Because our college utilizes Gmail for student accounts rather than a traditional domain, the automated verification system blocks me completely.

As part of the forms validation process, it will use a university email address to validate if you are onboarded at a registered university. Without this, the form will continue rejecting your application as it detects you do not meet the requirements for the Azure student subscription.

You could speak to your university to see if you are able to have a university email address on their domain. This will allow you to sign-up for the Azure Student subscription.

As this is directly blocking my ability to participate in MLSA tracks and technical training, could an engineer please contact me via private message so I can share my Ambassador proof and have my academic status manually approved?

As you are a member of the Microsoft Student Ambassador program on Discord, I think reaching out to them directly will be a good step forward. You can email their program support team here: sa-help@microsoft.com

    Hope this information helps,
    Nathan
