Product: Microsoft Excel for Microsoft 365 Family
Version: 2606 (Build 20131.20090)
Problem:
Currency and Stocks Linked Data Types resolve correctly but never refresh.
The refresh animation runs normally every few minutes and also on manual Refresh, but neither the price nor the Last Trade Time changes.
Tests performed:
- Quick Repair
- Online Repair
- Safe Mode
- Disabled all COM add-ins
- New workbook
- New Microsoft account
- Excel Desktop
- Excel for the Web
- Connected Experiences enabled
- Microsoft 365 subscription active
Same behavior occurs everywhere.
This appears to be a Linked Data Types service issue rather than an Office installation issue.

- Quick Repair and Online Repair completed
- Safe Mode tested
- All COM add-ins disabled

- Reproduced in a brand-new workbook
- Reproduced in Excel Desktop and Excel for the Web
- Reproduced using a brand-new Outlook.com Microsoft account
- Currency and Stocks Data Types both affected
- Data Types resolve successfully, but neither Price nor Last Trade Time ever update despite the refresh animation completing

2026-06-29T02:50:51.1533333+00:00 As of right now, the issue appears to have been resolved without any further changes on my side. Currency and Stocks Linked Data Types are now refreshing correctly in both Excel Desktop and Excel for the Web. No changes were made to my Office installation, account, or settings after the diagnostics described above.
I would love to hear from Microsoft what the resolve was, simply to understand the rationale for future reference.
