How to scroll and see comments on articles

When I read articles on the browser page, I often go to read comments from other readers. I can open up the comments section on the right side of the page, but as I read and scroll down to the next comment, the page often opens up the next article thus leaving the comment section on the article I was reading. I can go back to the article and reopen, but as soon as I've read the comments and try to continue reading the comments, MSN advances to the next article thus canceling out the comments I was reading. What can be done?

    Hi M W,

I understand how frustrating that can be, especially when you are in the middle of reading comments and the page suddenly moves to the next article.

To narrow it down, could you please check a few things?

    • Does this happen only on MSN articles, or also on other websites with comment sections?
    • Are you scrolling with a mouse wheel, touchpad, touchscreen, or keyboard?
    • Does the same thing happen in an InPrivate window?
    • If possible, does it happen in another browser as well?

In the meantime, please try these steps:

    • Make sure Microsoft Edge is up to date: open Edge, go to Settings and more (…) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge, then let it check for updates.
    • Try opening the article in an InPrivate window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + N, then test the comments section again.
    • Clear cached data for Edge: go to Settings and more (…) > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear, then clear Cached images and files.
    • Temporarily turn off extensions, especially ad blockers or script/content blockers, from Settings and more (…) > Extensions, then reload the article.
    • Reset the zoom level to 100% by pressing Ctrl + 0, as page scaling can sometimes affect side panels or scrolling behavior.
    • If the comments panel has its own scrollbar, try placing the pointer directly inside the comments area before scrolling, or use Page Down/arrow keys inside that panel.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
