I have cleaned and scrubbed, there was no other profiles to delete, tried to modify the Edge app twice and other times it failed (possible because I am out of storage space ??) this is the message i get when i try and modify it - the "help" button was no help

Open Edge and clear cached data: Edge > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose “Cached images and files” (and optionally download history/temp data) > set “All time” > Clear now. The cache alone can consume many GB over time.

Delete old Edge profiles and unused data. In Edge, go to Settings > Profiles and remove profiles you no longer use. Also disable “Startup boost” and “Continue running background extensions and apps when Edge is closed” under Settings > System and performance.

Clear the Edge cache folder manually if needed. Close Edge completely, then delete contents of: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Cache You can also clear folders named Code Cache, GPUCache, and Service Worker\CacheStorage.

Check Downloads and offline files. Edge often fills storage through downloaded installers, videos, PDFs, and offline web apps. Review: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Downloads and Edge Settings > Downloads.

Use Windows Storage cleanup tools. Go to Settings > System > Storage > Temporary files and remove temporary internet files, delivery optimization files, recycle bin contents, and old Windows update files. Turn on Storage Sense to automate cleanup.

If Edge is still consuming excessive space, repair or reset it: Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair. As a last resort, create a fresh Edge profile or reset settings under Edge > Settings > Reset settings.
