A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
This usually happens when the Excel window opens off-screen or is minimized in a way Windows cannot restore properly. First, click the Excel icon on the taskbar so it is active, then press Alt + Space, then press M, then use the arrow keys to move the invisible window back onto the screen. Once it starts moving, move your mouse and the window should reappear. Press Enter to lock it in place.
Another quick method is to click the Excel icon on the taskbar, then press Windows + Shift + Left Arrow or Right Arrow. This forces the hidden Excel window onto another monitor or back to the main screen.
If that does not work, right-click the taskbar and choose “Cascade windows” or “Show windows stacked.” Windows will attempt to reposition all open windows so they become visible again.
If you use multiple monitors, disconnecting the extra monitor temporarily or changing display settings to “PC screen only” can also force Excel back onto the main display.
