    Hi @Darryl Lipat

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To help us better understand and troubleshoot the issue, could you please provide the following details:

    • Does this issue occur for other users in your organization?
    • Does OneNote crash immediately after you start typing in the search box, or only after search results are displayed?
    • Are you searching across “All notebooks” or within a specific notebook?
    • Does the same issue occur in OneNote for the web (via a browser)?
    • Have you tried starting OneNote in safe mode? If so, does the issue still occur?

To start OneNote in safe mode:

    1. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type:onenote /safe
    3. Click OK.
    4. If prompted, select your Outlook profile and click OK.

    Additionally:

    • Does this issue occur with all notebooks, or only with specific ones (e.g., large or frequently used notebooks)?

Your answers will help us narrow down the cause and provide a more accurate solution.

In the meantime please try repair Office

Right-click the Start button (lower-left corner) and select Installed apps on the pop-up menu.
