Text-based conversations between users with searchable history in Microsoft Teams Free
Hi Chris Lannigan,
I am following up on your issue.
Since you confirmed that this is a personal account and that the message says “15 Favourite limit reached. Remove a chat to add more,” it sounds like Teams may still be counting favourites that are not currently shown in the Mac desktop app.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors here cannot access your Teams Free account data or manually reset the favourites list from the service side. However, you can try managing the list from Teams on the web first:
- Open Teams on the web with the same personal account, preferably from https://teams.live.com/.
- Check whether more favourites appear there than in the Mac desktop app.
- If additional favourites appear on the web, remove any old or unwanted favourites until the list is clearly below the limit.
- Quit the Teams Mac app completely, reopen it, and then try adding the favourites again.
- Also make sure Teams is up to date on the Mac by opening Teams and using Help > Check for Updates.
If Teams on the web also shows fewer than 15 favourites, but the Mac app still says the 15-favourite limit has been reached, the issue would need to be reported through Teams Free feedback or support. In the Teams desktop app, select Settings and more (...) > Feedback > Report a problem. In the report, include the exact message, mention that you are using a personal account on Teams for Mac, and attach a screenshot if possible. You may also contact Teams Free support through this link: Contact Teams Free support. Reference: Send feedback or suggest a feature in Microsoft Teams Free | Microsoft Support
I hope this helps narrow down whether the extra favourites are hidden only in the Mac app or still being counted from your account.
