Azure for Students verified successfully but subscription not created

Hello Microsoft Azure Support Team,

I am facing an issue while activating Azure for Students using my personal Microsoft account.

I completed the academic verification using my university email address (@adypu.edu.in). The verification was successful, and Microsoft displayed the following message:

"Congratulations! Your academic status has been successfully verified."

However, my Azure for Students subscription was never created.

Whenever I clicked "Sign up now" to activate Azure for Students, I was redirected back to the academic verification page instead of receiving the Azure subscription.

After several retry attempts, the verification process started reporting that my university email domain was not registered, even though it had been verified successfully earlier.

To verify whether the issue was related to my university or email domain, I tested the exact same Azure for Students registration process using another Microsoft account with the same university email domain (@adypu.edu.in). That account successfully received the Azure for Students subscription without any issues.

This indicates that the problem appears to be specific to my Microsoft account rather than my university, browser, or academic email.

I also checked the Azure Portal, and there are no active subscriptions associated with my account.

Could you please investigate whether my Microsoft account is stuck in a pending verification state or whether the Azure for Students offer failed to attach to my account?

If you require any additional information, screenshots, or verification details, I will be happy to provide them.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Kind regards,

    Hello @Danish Mansuri,

Thank you for providing detailed information.

Based on your description, the academic verification appears to have completed successfully, but the Azure for Students subscription was not provisioned to your Microsoft account.

Since you were able to create an Azure for Students subscription using the same university email domain with a different Microsoft account, this suggests that the school domain is recognized and eligible, and the issue may be specific to the Microsoft account used during registration.

You may want to try this alternative method to verify your Azure for Student:

    User's image

    • Sign in using a personal Microsoft account such as Outlook.com, Hotmail, or a Gmail address registered as a Microsoft account
    • When prompted, enter your school email only for verification

Before proceeding further, I recommend waiting 24-48 hours after the successful verification. In some cases, there can be a delay between academic verification and subscription provisioning.

If the subscription is still not available after 48 hours, you may want to review the following:

    • Verify your email address: If you used a school email account, make sure it has been verified and is associated with your Microsoft account. You can also try signing in with a personal Microsoft account if you suspect there may be an issue with the school account.
    • Confirm your Microsoft account setup: If you have not already done so, ensure that a Microsoft account has been created using the email address you used for student verification, as Azure subscriptions are tied to Microsoft accounts.
    • Check for account conflicts: If you have multiple Microsoft accounts or have previously registered with the same email address, verify that you are signing in with the correct account and credentials.
    • Look for activation emails: Review both your academic mailbox and the email inbox associated with your Microsoft account for any Azure for Students confirmation or activation messages.
    • Alternative Sign-Up via GitHub: If the standard sign-up process is not working, consider signing up through the GitHub Student Developer Pack. This can be used to verify your student status and access Microsoft student offers.

    • Contact your school's IT department: They may be able to verify your student eligibility status and confirm whether there are any institution-specific requirements or restrictions that could affect the subscription activation process.

If the behavior persists, I recommend contacting Azure for Education Support and providing screenshots of the successful verification message together with the Azure portal page showing no active subscriptions.

For your privacy, please do not post personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, subscription IDs, or account details on this public channel.

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to leave a comment.

Thank you and I wish you a great day!
