Hello William, thank you for reaching out.

Since the issue is with a corrupted Excel file, please first make a copy of the file if possible and work only on that copy. This helps keep the original file unchanged in case the repair attempt does not work or causes further changes.

You can try the Open and Repair command to recover your file.

    1. Click File > Open > Browse and then go to the location or folder where the workbook is stored. Don't try to open the file from the Recent section as this won't go into the Open dialog box.

The Browse option on the File, Open menu.

    1. Click the file you want, and then click the arrow next to Open, and click Open and Repair.Open and Repair

If Repair does not work, try Extract Data to recover values and formulas. Microsoft also recommends copying the file to a local location, such as the Desktop, first if it was saved on OneDrive, a network drive, or a USB drive.

Additional note: If the file was saved in OneDrive under another Microsoft account, please sign in with that same account or check OneDrive on the web to make sure the file is accessible. If it was shared from another account, access may depend on the sharing permissions.

Hope this helps. Feel free to post back if you need further assistance!
