Hello,

I have a user who reported that the Ctrl + and Ctrl - keyboard shortcuts are not working for zooming in and out in the Microsoft Office desktop applications version 2606 compilation 16.0.20131.20112) 64-bites with polish keyboard.

Additional details:

  • Zooming with Ctrl + mouse wheel works correctly.
  • The keyboard shortcuts work as expected in PowerPoint for the web.
  • The issue occurs in the desktop versions of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • The shortcuts work correctly in the desktop version of Word.

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Restarted the computer.
  • Performed an Office repair from Control Panel.
  • Updated device drivers.
  • Updated Microsoft Office to the latest version.

At this point, I have not identified the root cause of the issue. Could you please advise if this is a known behavior, a configuration-related issue, or if there are any additional troubleshooting steps that should be performed?

Thank you.

    Hello @Maksymilian Zaczek,

Thank you for sharing your detailed testing.

Based on your description, I checked the resources available to me but could not find any additional documentation, known issues, or official confirmation that would explain why these shortcuts are not working in your environment while other zoom methods continue to function normally.

Since you have already performed several troubleshooting steps, including repairing Office, updating Office, updating drivers, and restarting the device, I recommend contacting Microsoft Technical Support for deeper investigation. Their support engineers can collect diagnostic information, review Office logs, and determine whether this is related to your specific Office build, Windows configuration, keyboard layout, or another environment-specific factor.

    For business support:

Please note that this must be performed by your Microsoft 365 Admin.

    • Find your Microsoft 365 admin: If you don't know who the global admin is in your organization, you can find guidance here: How can I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
    • Submit a service request: The Global Administrator should create a support request with Microsoft to receive advanced technical assistance. For detailed instructions, see: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
    • If your subscription is from a partner or reseller, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

If you discover any solutions or have additional insights, please consider replying to this thread to help others in the community.

I sincerely apologize for redirecting you to the Microsoft Technical Support Team. While I strive to assist as much as possible here in the forum, my resources are limited when it comes to backend-level diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting.

Thank you, and please let me know if you need any further assistance.
