What is the best wat to ensure ordering materials with a lead time will update as the schedule changes.

For example, task setting trusses needs a relationship with ordering trusses with a lead time of 4 weeks. the ordering task needs to adjust when the schedule changes.

Based on your description, you would like the Order Trusses task to automatically update whenever the Set Trusses date changes.

You can configure it as shown below:

In the Predecessors field, enter: 1SS-4wks
Then select both tasks and click Auto Schedule.

The formula 1SS-4wks means:

1SS: The ID of the Set Trusses task (this value may vary depending on your project file).
-4wks: Automatically schedules the task 4 weeks earlier than the linked task.
