Feedback on Current Microsoft Surface Business Approach

Hello,

I would like to share some feedback regarding the current situation around Microsoft Surface, as it is raising concerns not only on our side but also among other partners and distributors.

At present, we are experiencing several challenges:

  • The transition to End-of-Life (EOL) for certain products appears to be happening before new products are properly announced or made available, creating gaps in the portfolio.
  • The communication around new product launches seems to overlook DMP partners, which limits our ability to prepare and support customers effectively.
  • Delivery lead times are significantly longer compared to competitors, impacting our competitiveness in the market.
  • Recent price decreases are causing dissatisfaction among customers, particularly when backorders are still invoiced at previous pricing levels.
  • Price decrease of the future, but also on backorders

These elements combined are making it increasingly difficult to position Surface solutions effectively with our customers.

We believe that improved alignment on product lifecycle management, communication, and pricing consistency would greatly support the partner ecosystem.
