There is no Microsoft (or any other) solution. Microsoft does not store UEFI passwords. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/startup/forgot-uefi-password-for-surface Microsoft may offer you an EXCHANGE if you contact support. Sorry, but that is your only option.
Surface Pro UEFI Password Locked – Proof of Ownership Available, Need Assistance Resetting UEFI Password
Hello Microsoft Community,
I am seeking assistance with a Microsoft Surface device that I legally own.
The device is currently protected by a UEFI (BIOS) password that I personally set in the past, but I can no longer remember the password. Unfortunately, Windows is also no longer functional, and I would like to perform a clean installation of Windows from a USB drive.
The challenge is that I cannot access the UEFI settings because the UEFI password is required. As a result, I am unable to modify boot settings or boot from a USB device to reinstall Windows.
I would like to know what official options are available through Microsoft to regain access to the device.
Additional information:
- I am the current owner of the Surface device.
- I have proof of ownership documentation.
- The documentation includes the device serial number.
- I am willing to provide any ownership verification that Microsoft requires.
- I understand the importance of device security and am looking for an official Microsoft-supported solution.
Could a Microsoft representative or community expert advise on the available recovery options for a Surface device with a forgotten UEFI password?
Thank you for your assistance.
