I got locked out of all Office365 user accounts, including the Global admin accounts.

I've been experiencing an authentication issue with my Microsoft 365 tenant that prevents access to the Global Administrator account and other user accounts through both the web and in-app

Issue Summary:

When attempting to sign in through a web browser, the authentication process repeatedly enters a loop.

After entering credentials and proceeding to the verification stage, the system immediately displays a "Set up complete" screen for the security verification method without actually performing a verification challenge.

Upon clicking "Done," the session redirects back to the authentication page and requests sign-in again.

The issue occurs across multiple browsers (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox), including private/incognito sessions, also across all Microsoft applications

The issue affects both the administrator account and all other user accounts.

My Microsoft subscription has now expired and unable to get renewed due to lack of access to the global admin accounts.

Troubleshooting Performed:

Tested across multiple browsers.

Tested using private/incognito sessions.

Cleared browser cache and cookies.

Verified that the issue is not limited to a single browser.

Checked device registration status; the device is a personal PC and is not Azure AD joined, which is expected for this environment.

Business Impact:

The administrator account is currently inaccessible due to the authentication loop. As a result, I am unable to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Entra Admin Center, or perform administrative tasks.

I would appreciate any help i can get from this platform as this is a really time sensitive matter affecting my business.

I look forward to your swift responses.

Thank you

Thank you

Hi @Steve

I really apologize for your situation. Could you please provide the ticket number via private message? Please note that I can only help you tracking the ticket, as a forum moderator, I do not have access to Microsoft internal system to assist or push this process to be quicker.

Hi Steve. Your Microsoft 365 tenant is locked out because of a broken Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) loop that stops all users and admins from logging in. When you try to sign in, the system skips the verification step, shows a "Set up complete" screen by mistake, and keeps sending you back to the login page. Since this loop affects your only Global Administrator account, you cannot access the Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Entra Admin Centers. As a result, you could not renew your business subscription, which has now expired, and your company has lost access to cloud and email services.

To fix this issue, you need to call Microsoft Global Business Support directly and ask to be connected to the Data Protection Team. When you use the automated phone system, choose the option for a "Business" account, say you are the administrator, and make it clear that no other admins can help. Only the Data Protection Team has the authority to override your tenant settings, get around the broken MFA, and restore your access. They will ask you to prove your identity, so be ready to add a TXT record to your public DNS or provide past billing details before they let you back in to renew your services.

Hope this helps you out :)
