I just purchased a family 365 yearly subscription, but have since found that my family aren't using it so I want to get a refund and purchase a single subscription. How do I do that and does it mean my storage etc will be retained as I convert?

You will need to cancel the Family subscription using the steps provided on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription

Then, you should be entitled to a Pro-rata refund, you can check your eligibility to a refund using the steps on this link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription

Then provided you use the exact same Microsoft account for the new Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, you will have access to all your files and the same 1TB of OneDrive storage.
